Very Important to Know:
Chronology of Hormone defecincy in Hypopituitarism:
1.Firstly Growth Hormone
2.Then, Gonadotrophin (LH,FSH)
3.Then,ACTH
4.Finally TSH
For Growth hormone defeciency in adults it produces lethargy, muscle weakness and increased fat mass.
For Gonadotrophin defecincy there is loss of libido in male and oligomenorrhea and amenorrhoea in female.Later there may be decreased frequency of shaving and gynecomastia in male.Axillary and pubic hair may be sparse or absent in both sexes.Snd skin may be fine and wrinkled.
Due to ACTH defeciency there is symptoms of cortisol insufficiency including Postural hypotension and Hyponatremia (dilutional).Potassium may be normal and patient may extremely pale in contrast to primary adrenal insufficiency where patient is hyperpigmented.
Finally due to TSH defeciency there is secondary hypothyroidism contributing to further apathy and cold intolerance.Frank myxoedema is rare in contrast to primary hypothyroidism.
